FROM THE WOOD STOVE TO YOUR STOVE


NOT OUR USUAL RECIPE - BUT WHAT A GREAT IDEA!    

 

 

Our holiday gathering in Tennessee for well over 40 family members included a full meal.  Cooking a traditional meal and pleasing appetites ranging from grandparents to small children might have been a daunting task if not for a clever idea.  

Since we were all family of course everyone contributed something for the table.... salads, casseroles, deserts, but the central dish was THE HUMBLE BAKED POTATO WITH TOPPINGS OF YOUR CHOICE. Each person selected a potato and proceeded to create their own masterpiece using a variety of supplied toppings.  The process not only gave the chance to  customize your creation according to your personal preferences, but the act of creating together led to great interactions, camaraderie and more than a few laughs!

Some Suggested Toppings:            

  The Usual -

              Sour Cream

              Chives

              Shredded Cheese

              Butter

              Broccoli

              Crumbled Bacon

 

But don't stop there. Think out of the box. If it tastes good, it probably tastes good on top of a Baked Potato.  Put out a variety of options and sit back and watch your guests create. Have some fun with it!
