October 11, 2007Hello to All,

We finished sailing on Sunday October 7. I had the crew over for a little gathering. It was relaxing to all be together instead of on three different boats and to hear each other talk about their many adventures this spring, summer and fall.

Capt. Seth Salzman who was here in the spring, came back this fall to help me finish out the sailing season. Meanwhile Capt. JP was waiting for his wife to have their first child and to spend some time with them after the birth. See pictures of Capt. James Pearson and the new baby here.

Capt. Allysa Williamson, who sailed the schooner Mistress earlier in the season is back to teaching music in the local schools while Capt. Dan Craci finished out the season. Dan has crewed with us before and was a nice addition this year.

Capt. JR Braugh left after Camden Windjammer Weekend (Labor Day) for his second half of requirements for a Master of Fine Arts degree with a special interest in painting at the New York Academy of Art in the TriBeCa neighborhood of Manhattan. We hope he will be back next year.

We have three charters in May, June and August on the Grace Bailey and the Mercantile already for 2008 and the 6-passenger Mistress is booking up fast. Anyone interested in full boat charters, should plan as soon as possible and call to start checking available dates.

Also individuals and reservations for couples are coming in, email or call anytime and watch for our annual oversized postcard picture calendar this fall.

Maine Windjammer Cruises has been offering this unique sailing experience since 1936 aboard our historic ships, and we do hope you'll join us soon.

Captain Ray
